In a society addicted to entertainment, I am left longing for more than Netflix, the latest celebrity scandal, or even the best joke. Deep in my heart, I believe the Lord created us for something greater than entertainment. There are a few things out there that are so much more important. I believe human beings were created to experience depth. Many years ago, I encountered Jesus Christ for the first time. Everything about my life changed. If you draw near to God, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). I highly recommend it.
Whether we are willing to admit it or not, we desperately need a deep relationship with God, and we long for something beyond small talk with others. I let my mind go to these places, and I want to bring others here with me (my faith is stronger in community). I am constantly learning and constantly growing. I make mistakes many times each day. I am striving to forgive myself and to refrain from making the same mistake twice. I have been anything but successful. However, I believe in the beauty of imperfect progress, and I am grateful my Father God does not require perfection but gives unending grace.
Although mightily challenging, I would much rather do this journey of life with Jesus than without Him (trust me, I tried the latter, and it was awful). It is Christ Jesus who gives me peace, joy, and a hope for the days ahead I cannot yet imagine. He saved my life. I hope and pray you are encouraged by my attempt at an open-book policy. Thank you for reading my mind’s deepest thoughts and my heart’s most sincere beliefs. I am always praying for you (Philippians 1:3-4).
